چکیده

Abstract The engineered multi-layered cover system (MLCS) is used to minimize rainwater infiltration into the wastes accommodated in near surface waste disposal facility (NSDF). It important assess hydraulic performance of MLCS before deploying it field. For this purpose, an instrumented three-layered soil column representing was subjected 1.5 m constant ponding head for 400 days. variation volumetric water content and potential monitored as a function depth time. objective study understand long-term rate saturation different layers MLCS. Under ponding, time 0.3 layer, 0.6 drainage layer 1.0 barrier observed 24, 223 262 days, respectively. numerical analysis predicted comparable duration 25, 234 272 noted that simulation performed by using measured wetting parameters matched well with experimental observation. importance specific calibration sensors improve accuracy observations demonstrated. Percentage error estimation storage, clearly indicates measurements profile probe marginally better than 5TM measurements.

Performance Model for Vertical Wells with Multi-stage Horizontal Hydraulic Fractures in Water Flooded Multilayer Reservoirs

For the characteristics of horizontal fractures in shallow low-permeability oil layers after hydraulic fracturing in multilayer reservoirs, horizontal fractures are taken equivalent to an elliptical cylinder with the reservoir thickness using the equivalent permeability model; then, upon the elliptic seepage theory, the seepage field which has led by a vertical well with horizontal fractures is...

Water-Permeable Dialysis Membranes for Multi-Layered Microdialysis System

This paper presents the development of water-permeable dialysis membranes that are suitable for an implantable microdialysis system that does not use dialysis fluid. We developed a microdialysis system integrating microfluidic channels and nanoporous filtering membranes made of polyethersulfone (PES), aiming at a fully implantable system that drastically improves the quality of life of patients...

Use of the landfill water pollution index (LWPI) for groundwater quality assessment near the landfill sites

The purpose of the paper is to assess the groundwater quality near the landfill sites using landfill water pollution index (LWPI). In order to investigate the scale of groundwater contamination, three landfills (E, H and S) in different stages of their operation were taken into analysis. Samples of groundwater in the vicinity of studied landfills were collected four times each year in the perio...
